**Job Title:* Virtual Writer for Cope Guides (Scandinavia)
**Organisation:** Orbis Non / Cope Publications

**Location:** Virtual (with occasional collaboration with the to-be Vilnius-based team)
**Travel Requirement:** Frequent travel to Denmark and the Øresund region (several times per week)

**About Orbis Non:**
Orbis Non is a modern, forward-thinking Media organisation operating as a collective of writers and contributors from all over the world. We pride ourselves on challenging the status quo, pushing boundaries, and exploring the world in fresh and unconventional ways. Our city guides operate similarly to the Michelin Guide, with anonymous inspectors providing detailed, thoughtful reviews of culture, restaurants, hotels, and destinations.

At Orbis Non, our writers are not just employees; they are part of a network. This collaborative approach allows for creative freedom and intellectual engagement. We believe in fostering a global team of passionate individuals who value discretion, curiosity, and critical thinking.

**Job Description:**
We are seeking talented, experienced writers to contribute to our travel and culture publications. Writers will focus on reviewing restaurants, hotels, cultural events, and cities, with a unique approach: you’ll need to immerse yourself in local life, adopting the perspective of both an insider and an outsider. Our goal is to provide readers with insightful, honest, and engaging content that challenges traditional views and offers fresh perspectives on the places we cover.

This role requires frequent travel to Denmark and the Øresund region, several times a week. Candidates should be prepared to explore these regions, experience their cultures firsthand, and bring authentic, on-the-ground insights to our publications.

**Key Responsibilities:**
– Write compelling, well-researched articles on destinations, cultural experiences, restaurants, hotels, and local life.
– Conduct in-depth research to provide accurate and insightful reviews.
– Capture the essence of a destination through your writing—highlighting what makes it unique, its hidden gems, and the real experience of living there.
– Maintain anonymity as an author —your name will not appear on any publication or promotional materials, ensuring the focus remains on the content itself.
– Collaborate with our virtual team of writers and brainstorm ideas, concepts, and approaches to content creation. Occasional in-person brainstorming sessions will take place in Vilnius once the Lithuanian team is fully up and running.
– Contribute to a shared pool of knowledge by sharing research, travel tips, and insights with fellow writers.
– Frequently travel to Denmark and the Øresund region to immerse yourself in local life and experiences, providing real-time reporting on what these regions have to offer.

**Required Qualifications:**
– Proven background in journalism or writing, with a portfolio of published work (travel-related experience preferred, but not required).
– Strong ability to think critically and challenge conventional narratives.
– Exceptional writing and editing skills, with the ability to adapt tone and style to suit different topics and audiences.
– Familiarity with travel trends, global destinations, and cultural nuances.
– Ability to work independently and meet deadlines in a virtual, flexible environment.
– Willingness to travel frequently (several times a week) to **Denmark and the Øresund region** for on-the-ground content creation.
– Willingness to sign an agreement to maintain anonymity and discretion regarding your work with Orbis Non. This helps ensure that no companies gain unfair advantages in our guides or try to pressure employees into artificially favourable reviews.

**Additional Information:**
– This is a **virtual** role, with flexibility in terms of location and hours. However, there will be occasional collaboration with a physical team to-be based in Vilnius.
– Writers will be compensated on a **per-article** basis with competitive pay.
– **Discretion is a key value at Orbis Non**: Writers must not disclose their affiliation with Orbis Non on social media or in any public-facing platforms (including LinkedIn or personal websites). Even after your tenure with Orbis Non ends, you are not permitted to advertise past employment or affiliation.
– After completing your role with Orbis Non, we will provide a **decree letter of recommendation**, but you may not publicly reference or promote your work with us. Again, the reason is to maintain discretion around the guides’ current employees and working methods so that they can remain as impartial as possible.

**Why Work With Orbis Non and Cope Guides?**
– Join a forward-thinking media collective where your work challenges norms and inspires a global audience.
– Collaborate with a diverse group of writers and thinkers from around the world.
– Gain exposure to unique travel experiences and develop expertise in writing about culture and destinations.

Position is expected to start Q1 2025.
